In a deal reportedly in the neighborhood of $13.7 Billion dollars, Amazon looks intent to continue dominance in retail. What this means for the rest of the grocery industry? Let the speculation begin. Amazon has an ability to impact change to an entire market. For those of us who already shop at the store jokingly referred to as "whole paycheck", this may be an exciting change. More importantly, for those of us who follow the Amazon stock (ahem, our Blue Line Trading Service) this is a very interesting turn of events. There was speculation about Amazon entering this marketplace in recent years. Many existing grocery chains have been focused on implementing online retail. Amazon already dominates that space. We follow trends here, but we will keep a watchful eye on what they are going to bring to Whole Foods.
